The Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP) will be holding its Annual Winter Conference from March 4-6, 2021 at… your home/office! Yes, we’re going virtual for 2021!

The Society for Consumer Psychology conference provides opportunities for a high level of interaction among participants interested in consumer research and in advancing the discipline of consumer psychology in a global society.

We are seeking proposals for symposia, competitive papers, and working papers. We encourage a diverse set of submissions to represent and enrich consumer psychology. To this end, we welcome various ideas and methods. From traditional CB and BDT/JDM research to interpretive/CCT work, all creeds of high-quality research are invited. As much as possible, submissions should resonate with the conference theme (i.e., Behavioral Insights for Changing Climates) and consider the psychological dimensions of human behavior.

CONFERENCE THEME: Behavioral Insights for Changing Climates

The world is changing rapidly and on many levels. We are seeing socio-cultural, political, demographic, economic, technological, health, and climate change. Protests and a pandemic have swept the globe; the planet is melting and burning; artificial intelligence and social media are increasingly prevalent.

These changes raise important and urgent questions for consumer psychologists, and answers to these questions have theoretical and practical relevance. How can we help consumers, managers, organizations, governments, and policymakers adjust to, cope with, and embrace these changes?

We welcome submissions that provide insights on how to effect positive responses to this multitude of changes.

Depending on the volume of theme-related submissions received, we may create a dedicated conference track featuring symposia and competitive papers that are most relevant to the theme. Thus, submissions that highlight behavioral insights for changing climates will be given priority; however, we also welcome submissions that do not relate directly to the theme.
